Nagaland : A Rising Frontier in Indian Coffee
Nagaland, in India’s Northeast, is one of the country’s most exciting emerging coffee origins. Nestled in the Eastern Himalayan ranges, the Naga Hills offer rich soils, high altitudes (1100–1350m), and cool microclimates that are ideal for cultivating Arabica coffee.
Though coffee was introduced to the region decades ago, it is only in recent years that Nagaland’s potential as a specialty coffee producer has been realized. Smallholder farmers, often cultivating less than a hectare each, are now growing coffee organically under shade, surrounded by forests and diverse crops. This results in beans that are clean, vibrant, and full of character.
Why Source from Nagaland?
🌱 Unique Origin – Still rare in global markets, Nagaland coffee stands out for roasters seeking exclusivity.
🌍 Sustainably Grown – Organic, shade-grown cultivation by tribal farmer cooperatives.
📈 Specialty Potential – High scoring lots (82+ to 85+) that showcase the region’s rapid growth in quality.
🤝 Direct Sourcing – Traceable partnerships ensuring farmers benefit from better prices and long-term relationships.

Arunachal Robusta – Forest Grown
In the far Northeast, Arunachal Pradesh is better known for its vast forests and tribal cultures than for coffee. Yet, here in the foothills and valleys, wild Robusta trees grow under the forest canopy, nurtured by rainfall and mountain soil. Unlike estate-grown coffee, these Robustas are plucked by hand from the forest itself
Part of a village adoption program that empowers local communities to harvest ripe cherries and transform them into a sustainable source of livelihood. The result: a Robusta with both strength and finesse — bold and earthy, yet softened by natural sun-drying.
Why Source from Arunachal?
🌲 Forest-Grown – Wild coffee cultivated under natural canopy, preserving biodiversity.
💪 Specialty Robusta – Bold yet refined, perfect for espresso blends and strong cup profiles.
👥 Community Empowerment – Villages supported through direct trade and sustainable harvesting.
🌱 Natural Processing – Sun-dried cherries yield sweetness and depth.
